We are thrilled to be sharing our Fall/Winter 2023 programming!
Fall/Winter 2023
Creative Movement Class – 3 to 6 year olds
Tuesdays from 4:30pm – 5:15pm
Taught by Village Creative Dance
Creative movement is a type of dance class that is designed to help children explore
their bodies, their imaginations, and their creativity through movement. The class will
use music, props, and games to encourage children to move freely and express
themselves in a variety of ways.
In a creative movement class, children will learn about:
– Body awareness: How to feel and understand their bodies in space
– Balance: How to keep their bodies upright and stable
– Coordination: How to move their bodies smoothly and in control
– Flexibility: How to move their bodies through a full range of motion
– Strength: How to use their muscles to move their bodies
– Expression: How to use their bodies to communicate emotions and ideas
Children will also have the opportunity to:
– Explore different types of movement, such as running, jumping, crawling, and
spinning
– Create their own movements
– Work together with other children
– Have fun!
Class Tuition: $120.00
Classes start November 14th and end January 23rd.
Theatre Dance Class – 7 to 11 year olds
Tuesdays from 5:30pm – 6:30pm
Taught by Village Creative Dance
This class is designed to help actors develop their physical skills and expressiveness
through jazz dance. The class will cover a variety of jazz techniques, including
isolations, turns, and leaps. Students will also learn how to use their bodies to express
emotions and create characters.
Class Objectives:
– Improve physical skills, including flexibility, strength, and coordination.
– Learn how to use the body to express emotions.
– Develop a better understanding of movement.
– Build confidence and self-esteem.
– Prepare for roles in musicals and other productions that require dancing.
Class Content:
– Warm-up and stretching
– Jazz technique exercises
– Choreography
– Improvisation
– Character development
Class Tuition: $120.00
Classes start November 14th and end January 23rd.

Tuesdays from 6:45pm – 7:45pm
Taught by Village Creative Dance
This class is designed to help actors develop their physical skills and expressiveness
through jazz dance. The class will cover a variety of jazz techniques, including
isolations, turns, and leaps. Students will also learn how to use their bodies to express
emotions and create characters.

The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical – Performed by Middle/High School Students
Presented by the Energy Cooperative with generous support from Licking County Foundation and Ohio Arts Council.
This musical is performed by our theatre academy students on the Mary Kay Booher Main Stage from Friday November 3rd – 5th. Tickets are only $9.50, with general admission seating for all performances.
A Holiday Moosical – Pre-K through 3rd Grade
Rehearsals are Wednesday Evenings from 5:00-6:30 starting October 4 through December 13. There will be a final dress rehearsal on December 14 from 5-6, and performances are December 15 at 7 PM, and Saturday December 16 at 10 AM, and 12 PM.
There is no rehearsal November 22, instead it will be November 21 at the same time.
