Volunteer at Weathervane
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
USHERS
BEST FOR: Outgoing people-people
Ushers are the face of our theatre before performances. Our Ushers greet patrons, take tickets, pass out programs, assist people to their seats, are available to answer questions and assist patrons as needed. Once our patrons have all been seated and the show has begun, they are welcome to enjoy the show.
CONCESSIONS
BEST FOR: Outgoing people-people
Volunteers who work in concessions help to sell food and beverage items in our concession stand to patrons before the show and during intermission and assist in cleaning the concession stand at the end of each evening. These volunteers are welcome to watch the show in between concession duties.
LANDSCAPING
BEST FOR: People who like gardening and working outdoors
Our landscaping volunteers assist in keeping the grounds looking beautiful by watering plants and weeding the flower beds during our season. They also help with planting in the spring and cleaning up the beds in the fall.
COSTUMES
BEST FOR: People who like clothing or fashion / people who sew
Our volunteers in costumes help keep our costume stock organized by hanging up and returning clothes to their racks and organize shoes and various costume pieces. Those who sew can also sit side-by-side with our costume designers and costume crew with sewing needs.
SPECIAL EVENTS
BEST FOR: People who are organized / like to throw parties and events
From time to time, volunteers help us with special events. This can include setting up and tearing down events large and small, decorating, soliciting donations and more.
FACILITIES
BEST FOR: People with handyman skills / general skills
Our facilities volunteers help keep Weathervane in tip-top shape. This can include everything from a painting project, to general “handyman” projects, to assisting in the day-to-day cleaning.
ADMINISTRATION
BEST FOR: General skills / people who are organized
Our administration volunteers help with a variety of projects throughout the year. This includes stuffing envelopes, distributing posters or advertising materials around town, helping with Will Call before a performance, organizing files, and helping to place inserts in programs before our shows.
