All the way from the bustling city of New York, the inspiring playwright, Max Berry, presents Songs my Dad Sings Loudly in the Car. Max holds a very special place in our hearts here at Weathervane Playhouse! His passion for theater began within our WTA (Weathervane Theater Academy) in 2010. We are so proud of his accomplishments and are honored to now be producing his new work.

Songs my Dad Sings Loudly in the Car features Mark and his dad, Ted, acknowledging that the death of Mark’s grandfather is inching closer. While armed with a killer playlist, the two take a much-needed detour down memory lane on their way back from the hospital. Trapped in the car and with tensions high, the two discuss their hometown, baseball, and Mark’s desire to go away to college. As the night goes on, we see what happens when two people who grieve in very different ways try to come together to get through a family tragedy.

To aid in Max’s production we are excited and intrigued to gain your feedback on the new work and to have the chance to meet Max in person. Friday night’s performance will include a ‘Talk-Back’, where after the performance Max will engage with audience members for ideas and reactions. The Saturday performance will include a cocktail hour before the show where guests are encouraged to mingle and get to know Max and his successes.
