Pay What You Decide Tickets
Pay What You Decide (PWYD) Tickets
Weathervane Playhouse believes everyone in our community should have access to theatre.
In order to make theatre more accessible to our community, Weathervane Playhouse offers community outreach programs to remove the barriers that sometime stand between our neighbors and great theatre- whether those barriers are financial or simply a fear of the risk involved in trying something new.
Pay What You Decide
WHAT: Pay What You Decide (PWYD) tickets allow you to enjoy the theatre risk-free. Reserve tickets, enjoy the show, then pay what you decide it was worth to you.
WHEN: A limited number of tickets will be available for certain performances online, over the phone and in person. Bookmark this page, follow us on Social Media, or sign-up for our E-Mail Newsletter to be the first to know which performances will have PWYD tickets available. PWYD tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis and sell out quickly.
HOW: Once we announce PWYD tickets are available, simply order them online, over the phone or at the Box Office. (If calling the Box Office, please state you would like Pay What You Decide tickets.) You may request up to two reserved, unassigned -but guaranteed- seats. On the day of the show, you will simply pick-up your tickets at Will Call, then enjoy the show! After the show, return the envelope with a brief survey and an amount you decide the show was worth to you to the Box Office, or in our Donation Barn in the lobby.
WHY: We believe everyone should have access to the Arts, and theatre specifically. By offering PWYD tickets, we are hoping to pave an easy path for everyone to experience theatre at least once.
WHO: We welcome everyone in our community, whether this is your first – or one-hundredth- visit to Weathervane Playhouse.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
May I choose my seats? While you will have guaranteed seats for the performance, the seats are all assigned by Weathervane’s Box Office staff. Our intimate theatre is laid out in such a way, there isn’t a “bad” seat in the house. (If you require accessible seating, please call the Box Office).
How much should I pay? While our ticket prices range from $15 for children to $37 for adults – you truly decide to pay what the performance was worth to you. Our suggested price is $20 in order to help cover the costs of our productions and to keep programs like this one alive, but every amount is welcome.
Can I pay more? Absolutely! By paying more than the suggested amount, you help to guarantee keeping theatre accessible to all.
What if I only have a couple of dollars? You are as welcome as everyone else!
What’s the catch? We do ask people who receive PWYD tickets to fill out an anonymous 3-question survey after the performance to return with their decided payment. This helps us to make any necessary changes or modifications to keep the program a success.
Will everyone know I have a PWYD ticket? Not at all! PWYD tickets are the same as all other tickets. By seating PWYD recipients throughout the theatre, there isn’t a “special section” singling anyone out. To pay anonymously, we do suggest bringing cash, although checks and credit cards are welcome methods of payment at the box office.
