Play-in-a-Box Workshop

Turn five random ingredients in a box into an original story created by you! Students will learn to take their ideas and transform it into a play and then perform their plays for their families on the final day of camp.
Playwriting Seminar
Grades: 7+

Students will be guided through the process of taking an idea and turning it into a play. Students will learn storytelling terminology such as objective, conflict, actions in and apply them in their own writing. On the final day of class, students will present a final performance of their written plays to families.
Revolting Children Musical Theatre Camp
Grades 3-8

Nobody but you can change your story! Learn songs and choreography from popular musicals like Matilda, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, School of Rock, Annie, Newsies, Oliver!, Sound of Music, Peter Pan and more! Students will strengthen vocal technique and learn how to combine acting and dancing while singing, an essential skill for the musical theater performer. Perfect for those who sing in the shower and fans of Broadway musicals! Students will show off their new skills with a performance at the Newark Pride Festival for families at the Canal Market on Saturday, June 8.

Each day in camp, we combine your child’s natural love of music, storytelling, and imaginative play to foster the skills of your tiny budding actor. Parents participate in the entire class.
Build-a-Show: Winnie the Pooh
Grades 3+

Students will be introduced to scenery, lighting, stage management, costumes, sound and properties as they design and build the technical elements of Winnie the Pooh alongside working professionals from Central Ohio. This is perfect for the hands-on and imaginative young artist interested in working behind-the-scenes and applying for the Summer Apprenticeship Program in the future.
Stage Makeup Camp
Grades 3+

Learn makeup techniques for animals, old age, injuries, fantasy and more! Students will apply makeup technique on themselves and other students as they are taught by a working professional. Students will design and apply makeup for our production of Winnie the Pooh. Perfect for the young artist interested in working behind-the-scenes.
Star Wars Shakespeare Camp
Grades 4+

Go to a galaxy far, far away where you will meet Luke Skywalker, Jedi Knight; Han Solo, captain of the Millenium Falcon, Han Solo; Princess Leia, fearless leader of the Resistance; R2-D2 and C-3P0, brave robot droid companions and many more characters as you retell the immortal coming of age story of the hero’s journey in the style of Shakespeare. Students will be introduced to Shakespearean verse and meter, script analysis and character development in this action-packed, battle-filled camp.
I Hope I Get It! Boot Camp
Grades 6+
July 15-19 from 1PM-4PM

Optional Headshot Fee: $75

Students will learn about picking the right song and monologue, acting and singing techniques, cold reads, dance calls, proper resume formatting, audition attire and etiquette and have the option to get a new professional headshot! At the end of the workshop, students will be adjudicated by a special guest panel and receive evaluation to improve their audition for the future.
