2017 SUMMER SEASON JOB NOTICES

Weathervane Playhouse is seeking technicians and administrative staff for its 2017 Summer Season. Positions include Production Manager/Production Stage Manager, Box Office Manager, Assistant Technical Director, Carpenter, and Arts Administration Interns. PRODUCTION MANAGER/PRODUCTION STAGE MANAGER

Summer 2017 Production Manager/Production Stage Manager Position

Pay involved (summer stipend), Housing available

Weathervane Playhouse is seeking a Production Manager/Production Stage Manager to oversee the Production Department for its 2017 Summer Season. Excellent organizational and communication skills are a must. Experience with Production Management and Stage Management is required. The Weathervane Summer Program provides hands-on learning opportunities for professionals, undergraduate as well as for graduate students and post-baccalaureates interested in theatre both on stage and off. Positions and internships typically run the entire summer (11-weeks) season and would be involved in all five productions at the Weathervane Playhouse. The 2017 Summer Season includes:

The Production Manager is responsible for supervising all aspects of production for all five shows in the Weathervane Playhouse season. In collaboration with the Managing Artistic Director and the Theatre Manager, develops season schedule for all productions and expanded programming. Develops and administers production calendars and design deadlines for each production. Determines load-in and technical rehearsal schedules for the stage. Manages resource calendars for all shared facility spaces. Schedules all design and production meetings. Facilitates clear communications throughout the production process, and acts as a liaison between directors, designers, stage managers, and Weathervane production and administrative staffs. Supervise, in consultation with the Managing Artistic Director and/or Theatre Manager when appropriate, all production staff and contractors including, but not limited to: designers, full time technical staff, electricians, carpenters, stage managers, production assistants, wardrobe personnel, running crew, artistic consultants, and any additional personnel required for specific production needs. Additionally, this position will serve as the Production Stage Manager for one production (TBD) in the season. Other duties included but not limited to: Coordinate and conduct all design and production meetings, attend first read through, designer run, technical rehearsals, and previews as necessary, oversee and coordinate the Weathervane Playhouse Apprentice Program, ensure company compliance with all fire and building codes, and oversees two full-time stage managers and an assistant stage manager. BOX OFFICE MANAGER JOB NOTICE

 Summer 2017 Box Office Manager

Weathervane Playhouse is seeking a Box Office Manager for its 2017 Summer Season. The Weathervane Summer Program provides hands-on learning opportunities for undergraduate students as well as for graduate students and post-baccalaureates interested in theatre both on stage and off. The Box Office Manager position runs the entire summer (11-weeks) season and involves all five productions at the Weathervane Playhouse. The 2017 Summer Season includes:

The Box Office Manager will work closely with the Theatre Manager on box office operations, front of house, patron-relations, administration, and promotional aspects of the summer season. Candidate should have experience in the following areas: box office operations, house management, customer service, marketing, and Microsoft Office computer programs. Candidate may be asked to assist in other departments or on special projects, as needed. The ideal candidate is interested in a career in Box Office, Administration, or Customer Service.

Weathervane Playhouse is seeking an Assistant Technical Director to assist in the running of the scene shop for its 2017 Summer Season. The Weathervane Summer Program provides hands-on learning opportunities for professionals, undergraduate as well as for graduate students and post-baccalaureates interested in theatre both on stage and off. Positions and internships typically run the entire summer (11-weeks) season and would be involved in all five productions at the Weathervane Playhouse. The 2017 Summer Season includes:

The Assistant Technical Director assists in overseeing the build in all aspects of design and execution of all five shows in the Weathervane Playhouse season. Assisting the Technical Director in overseeing technical rehearsals and crew duties will also be a large part of this job. Scenic and technical personnel assist in all scenic build needs, changeovers, and provide run support for all shows. Qualified applicants should have a strong background in Carpentry or scenic education and crew experience and should be highly motivated and ready to work in a professional, fun and exciting environment. Weathervane is seeking dynamic, positive thinking, and extremely dedicated individuals to join them in their 2017 Summer Season. Need to work under supervision and to collaborate with other departments is an absolute must.
