THEATRE EDUCATION DIRECTOR
Theatre Education Director Position
The Theatre Education Director (TED) for the Weathervane Young Artists’ Repertory Theatre (WYART) is responsible for the daily management of budgets, operations, marketing, and sales of the educational programming. Additionally, the TED will hire and manage WYART instructors, directors, and stage managers, and manage classroom and production processes. The TED is responsible for the planning and selection of classes, workshops and productions, and the development of outreach programs to be held throughout the year. The TED is expected to produce a year-long plan-of-action, including grant proposals, all while maintain regular and timely communication with parents and the Weathervane Playhouse Managing Artistic Director, Theatre Manager, and Board of Directors. Programming is expected to be planned and budgeted on an annual basis and placed in a single brochure for sales and marketing. This is a part-time salaried position ($8,000 range).
Qualified applicants must have a degree in theatre, or other associated areas of study. Experience with theatre production, performance, and stage management, is desired. A qualified candidate will have experience teaching children and adults, and will understand the training process of performance techniques. Additional knowledge of arts management, marketing, graphic design, and theatrical design is encouraged.
