TUITION POLICY
Please pay your tuition in full; or if you have paid a deposit, remember to pay the balance on the first day of class. Please click on the link below to visit our Registration page or you may also register in person at Box Office.
ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
Weathervane Playhouse enforces a zero-tolerance policy for some behavior/items. Weapons, controlled substances, substances illegal for minors, theft, and behavior interpreted by the Theater Education Director as violent, disruptive, destructive, harassing, bullying, or aggressive will not be tolerated and may result in removal from the WYART program.
ATTENDANCE POLICY
Since classes have a final performance, and all students are important to the final product, students should attend every day that they are called on the rehearsal/workshop schedule. If you cannot attend, please notify us by email or phone that you will be absent.
CLASS CONFLICT POLICY
Families are asked to fill out a conflict calendar on the audition form for any our Productions. The absolute last day to submit conflict is the first day of classes. After that point in time, if we do not have your conflict on file, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to honor it.
CLASS CANCELLATION POLICY
Class cancellation because of weather or teacher illness/emergency will be emailed and posted on WYART’s Facebook page, no later than one hour before the scheduled start of class. In the case of weather or other emergency, WYART will do everything in our power to schedule a make up class. Please note, even if schools are canceled, we may still have class that evening if the roads will be safe enough.
STUDENT SIGN-IN POLICY
All students must sign in or out with a parent unless we have written permission for the student to sign themselves in and out. Students over the age of 18 may sign themselves in and out.
EARLY DROP OFF – LATE PICK UP
- PICKING UP EARLY: If you need to pick up your student before the end of the class, advance notice by email is required. Please park in the lot and come in to the theater or classroom.
- PICKING UP LATE: Please pick your child up on time. Parents arriving more than 15 after the end of class, will be charged $10 per 15 minutes late. Example, class lasts from 4-5 p.m. If your child is picked up between 5:15 and 5:30 = $10, 5:30-5:45 = $20 and so on.
- DROPPING OFF EARLY: Please do not drop off your child more than 15 minutes before the start of class. Staff is not available to supervise them.
OPEN/CLOSED DOOR POLICY
All workshops are closed to the public. Unless there is a special circumstance, we ask that parents refrain from observing class as it can be distracting and cause other students to be self conscious. Please wait for your student in the hallway, green room or outside. You are also welcome to take advantage of the time your child is in class and leave to run errands, have quiet time, etc.
FIRST DAY OF CLASS
Please arrive 15 minutes early to take care of final registration and tuition needs on the first day of class. There will be a general welcome meeting for parents and students at the beginning of class on the first day of each scheduled workshop. This will last for approximately 10 minutes. This will be your chance to get acquainted with the instructors and to ask any questions.
WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS
Each class or workshop will have different recommendations. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle and healthy snack for break or after class. Your child may be given materials such as a script or music for their personal use. Please store them in a folder or three ring binder and bring it to class each day. Clearly label all personal belongings. There is a lost and found box in the office. Please bring a spiral notebook and a few sharpened pencils to take blocking and acting notes. Last but not least, always bring a positive attitude!
WHAT TO WEAR TO CLASS
All workshops require clothing that is easy to move in. We recommend wearing a few layers for temperature control. The space can fluctuate with lights and activity. For musical and dance camps, students are encouraged to wear dance apparel such as leotard, t-shirt, jazz pants and jazz shoes. No Jewelry. Hair clipped or tied out of face. No flip-flops or open toed shoes at any time. Sneakers or dance jazz shoes are the safest and easiest to work/play in.
OPEN/CLOSED DOOR POLICY
All workshops are closed to the public. Parents are welcome to observe, but all efforts should be made to arrange this 24 hours in advance. Please do not interrupt class on a regular basis.
PARENTS WAITING AREAS
Parents, please wait for your student in the hallway, or outside. In the case of inclement weather, the WYART office may also be used for a waiting area.
FOOD ALLERGY
Many of our students have a food allergy. Peanuts and other nut products seem to cause the greatest problem. We try to meet the special needs of all our students, therefore please, no peanuts or peanut products! We apologize for any inconvenience and are thankful for your cooperation.
KROGER REWARDS
Register your credit card with Kroger and a portion of your purchase will go to support Weathervane programing. Thank you in advance for you generous support of our educational programing.
