MARC WEAVER – THEATRE EDUCATION DIRECTOR
Marc Weaver is a theatre artist and educator from Fort Worth, TX and received his B.A. in Theatre from Denison University. Driven by a deep love for the craft, Marc has served in a variety of positions in theatre. At Denison, he directed Rabbit Hole and assistant directed Ulmus Ohioana, built out of material from the Denison archives. He directed Harvey and played Thurston Wheelis in A Tuna Christmas at Out of the Box Community Theatre. He played David Miller in the stage reading of TAR, staged managed Dear Piqua and assistant stage managed Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again., An Octoroon and [porto] at Available Light Theatre.
He served as a camp counselor for Aladdin Jr. at Casa Mañana in Fort Worth TX. He interned at the Washburn High School Black Box in Minneapolis, MN, a program that provides a platform for young people to speak their mind about issues they are passionate about. That summer, he was an Education Intern at Children’s Theatre Company, the nation’s largest theatre for young audiences, where he helped teach three months worth of drama camps for grades K-12. At Columbus Children’s Theatre, he assistant directed Sleeping Beauty KIDS and taught theatre classes for the CCT Academy and Columbus Collegiate Academy. He assistant directed To Be Heard, an original play with music created by Brave Young Voices: The Westerville Youth Theatre Project. At WYART, he directed A Year with Frog and Toad KIDS, staged managed 13 the Musical, Panda and the Moon, State Fair and CATS and taught classes on acting and playwriting.
