SPRING 2019 WORKSHOP SESSION: APRIL 8-MAY 17

Voice for Musical Theatre

Tuition: $90
Tuesdays, 5-6pm
Grades 5-12

Students will develop vocal singing skills, while also learning the art of acting and performing in a musical.  This is not your average “sit and sing” class, but a class where students will learn how to put their acting and singing together. Students will perform in at the end of the session. Through traditional and contemporary and Musical Theatre repertory, students will be introduced to Vocal techniques such as Breath support, vowel formation, And parts of the voice. Students will learn to Sing both as a soloist and in an ensemble while creating a character. This class will be held in the Larry W. And Dawn Holt Anderson Children’s Theatre.

Tap 1

Tuition: $75
Wednesdays 5:00-5:45pm
Recommended for Beginning Level – Any Age
*Placement-based class

This class is to learn Tap technique from a Beginner to an Advanced Beginner level (as determined by instructor) with a focus on Musical Theatre style.  Students will gain a solid base of Tap skills while learning terminology necessary to work towards being able to audition for a show. This class will be held in the Matthew Trombetta Artistic Wing.

Tap 2

Cost: $105
Wednesdays 7:15-8pm
Recommended for Intermediate – Advanced Level – Any Age
*Placement-based class

This class expands on what students learn in Tap 1 advancing their skill set and terminology. Students at this level would be considered Intermediate level.  Students will continue their technique work while learning advanced skills, step combinations, and common Tap phrases to prepare them for a successful Tap audition. This class will be held in the Matthew Trombetta Artistic Wing.

Dance for Musical Theatre

Cost: $160
Wednesdays 5:45-7:15pm
Grades 6-12

This class will focus on students learning proper dance technique (form, placement, line, etc.) while adding new dance skills to their repertoire and improving their flexibility and strength.  Students will learn ballet terms and other language they need to know for dance auditions as they master steps from a variety of styles of Musical Theatre dance. Class structure will vary depending on the skill level of the students involved and can be adapted to a variety of levels.  This class will be held in the Matthew Trombetta Artistic Wing.

Acting for Young Artists: Superheroes and Villains!

Cost: $75
Wednesdays from 7:15-8pm
Grades K-4

While utilizing the art of play this course will provide young students an introduction to performance skills, terminology, and basic technique. This class seeks to spark the imagination of young students, and build confidence while teaching them about the three actor’s tools: Voice, Body and Mind. This class will be held in the Larry W. And Dawn Holt Anderson Children’s Theatre.

Tiny Thespians

Cost: $60
Fridays 12:00pm-12:45pm
Ages 6 months – 5 years old

Each week in class we combine your child’s natural love of music, storytelling, and imaginative play to foster the skills of your tiny budding actor. Parents participate in the entire class. This class will be held in the Larry W. And Dawn Holt Anderson Children’s Theatre.
