With puppets, this laugh-out-loud musical details the struggles and anxieties associated with entering adulthood. Assured by their parents and by children’s television programs that they are “special” and “could do anything,” the now-adult characters lament that things are more difficult in the real world. This outrageously funny musical by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx won numerous Tony Awards. Avenue Q makes its Weathervane Playhouse premiere July 27th through August 5th and marks the end of the 49th Summer Season. Weathervane Rating: R

Please be advised that Avenue Q contains strong language and adult content.

Notes from the Director
Christine O’GradyO'Grady, Christine 2017 Summer Headhsot

Avenue Q may have debuted on Broadway during my first year of living in NYC, but fourteen years later, it hits just as close to home. Filled with heart and laced with truth bombs, this show will remind you that, ‘you gotta go after the things you want while you’re still in your prime.’ But when is our prime these days? With my 20s long behind me, and my 40s just now dawning, I can’t wait to tell this story about finding our chosen families, pursuing our ever-changing dreams, and knowing where to draw the line, because no matter what ‘prime’ you’re in there’s something both encouraging—and terrifying—to know that, regardless of how good or bad things are, it’s only ‘for now,’ so make yourself at home but don’t get too comfortable!”
